Synauta nominated as Breakthrough Technology Company of the Year – 2022 Global Water Awards

Global Water Intelligence’s 2022 Global Water Award shortlist has been announced and Synauta has been nominated in the Breakthrough Technology Company of the Year category.

The awards recognize excellence across the entire international water industry within several categories, and reward those initiatives in the water, wastewater, and desalination sectors that are moving the industry forward.

“The benefits of Synauta’s solution stretch across energy, chemicals and carbon footprint. Its machine learning system has reduced the energy bill by hundreds of thousands of dollars.” Global Water Intelligence.

The Breakthrough Technology Company of the Year is awarded to the early-stage technology company which made the most impressive commercial breakthrough into the global water technology market.

Winners of these prestigious awards are decided by votes from subscribers of Global Water Intelligence publications, Global Water Intelligence magazine and Water Desalination Report.

The Synauta team is ecstatic to be nominated amongst great competition:

ROTEC – An Israeli developer of a high-recovery Flow Reversal Reverse Osmosis (FR-RO) system, which intermittently alternates the flow direction to take advantage of the initial slow-stage of scale formation reactions. FR-RO is now being implemented on Singapore’s Changi WWTP, and is being retrofit to a potable water BWRO at Santa Monica, California.

Sentry – A Canadian developer of bio-electrode sensor technology that provides real-time microbial performance monitoring in wastewater treatment systems. It more than doubled its installation count to 135 active deployments at WWTPs. Fuelled by an investment from SKion and others, it also won 10 projects in Singapore.

Synauta – A Canadian start-up optimizing the performance of desalination plants through machine learning, which provides a “setpoints-as-a-service” offering. During 2021, the company secured new projects in SWRO, BWRO and water reuse applications around the globe, including projects in South America, North Africa and southeast Asia, and made key partnerships with Engie, Osmoflo, Sacyr and Veolia.

Transcend Water – An automated design software company with a cloud technology born out of Organica Water. The company increased its customer base ten times over as water utilities from Brazil to southeast Asia and the UK recognized the solution’s benefits for their asset planning.

The 2022 Global Water Awards include other categories such as Water Company of the Year and Desalination Plant of the Year.
